Love God. Love Neighbor. Live It.
The New Haven Urban Ministry Cooperative, a mission of Christ Church New Haven, is dedicated to forming and sending people out to do the work they have been given to do as faithful witnesses of Christ.
We are a community of communities dedicated to worship, formation, and mission. Young adults join Saint Hilda's House and newly ordained clergy join Ascension House as we continue to grow in prayer, service, and witness with the neighborhood around us.

How can you help?
This is not work we can do alone. We would love your help to do as the Prayer Book calls us, to "work, pray, and give for the spread of the Kingdom of God." You can help by volunteering with us, praying with and for us, and by sharing financial gifts.
Saint Hilda's House
St. Hilda's House is a ten-month residential young adult discernment program devoted to spiritual formation and urban ministry while living in community. It is sponsored by Christ Church New Haven in partnership with Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University.
Interns live at either the former rectory at Christ Church or in apartments near Christ Church's mission parish, Ascension Church in the Hill neighborhood.
"St. Hilda's House is a program that encourages interns to put their faith into action; it encourages both intellectual study and service to the community." - Caleb Bennetch ('11)
Ascension House is a unique newly forming residential urban community for those who have recently finished seminary and are looking for a distinctly different form of service, formation, and prayer.
Community members serve with parishes around New Haven as assistant clergy, live in intentional community, are mentored by clergy around the area, and partner with neighbors to coordinate mission and worship.
Ascension Church in the Hill
Ascension Church in the Hill is a mission parish of Christ Church dedicated to sharing the love of Christ in the Hill. We are a community of mission, worship, evangelism, and service rooted in the Presence of Christ.
Each morning (Monday-Friday) interns from Saint Hilda's House meet for morning prayer at 8:00 am in the church. We are in conversation with our neighbors and are exploring starting a Saturday evening mass.
The church hosts or houses various religious and religiously affiliated groups, activities and programs, such as Teen Challenge and independent congregations. It is situated in the Hill neighborhood of New Haven. We are exploring new mission partnerships that would offer GED courses, English language courses, reading tutoring for children, among other possibilities.
